Gifting Through Stocks and Securities

By donating stock to Winter Nights, you are supporting our mission to provide supportive services to homeless families. Winter Nights will sell the security and obtain the full benefit of its value when you donate it. You will not have to report the sale and capital gain on your tax return, but you will be able to claim a deduction for the full value of the stock if you itemize on either your federal or state tax returns. Any publicly traded security may be transferred directly to our brokerage account. Please contact us at appreciated@cccwinternights.org for instructions you can give your broker on how to effect the transfer.
